The Bears hosted State League leaders Valentine Phoenix at Thomas and Coffey Park without the services of Luke Walker (suspended) and Jason Cowburn (injured). Regular keeper Tim Pratt was also dropped to U/23’s with Sam Parkinson promoted to the top grade.

With this game being the last of 2009 at Thomas and Coffey Park, it was hoped that the Bears could stand up and give the supporters something that they have been craving, a win.
