The Weston Workers Bears Football Club is delighted to welcome Alex Butt.

With an extensive playing and coaching CV, his experience both on and off the park ensures he is a fantastic addition to our Club. Alex’s playing career saw him debut as a 16 year old with Adamstown Rosebuds and has seen him go on to win a host of honours with stints at Central Coast, Parramatta Power, Toronto, Edgeworth, ACT Academy of Sport, Canberra Olympic and now at Weston.

Alex’s coaching career is also very impressive with highly successful involvement at a number of clubs and governing bodies including; ACT Academy of Sport, Football NSW’s High Performance Unit, Westfield W-League teams - Canberra, Central Coast and currently with Sydney FC. Alex provides ongoing coaching assistance with the  Australian Men’s U17 & U23 and the Australian women’s U17, U20 & Senior National Squads.

hydro_logoAlong with playing at Weston Alex will also take on the role of ‘Youth Coaching Convener’. This has been made possible with the support of HYDRO and will see Alex facilitate coaching education and provide assistance to the Clubs junior coaches over the course of the season.
HYDRO's support for coaching development also ensures that junior player development will benefit greatly from this supported coaching structure.

Welcome aboard Alex, thank you HYDRO and....
C’MON YOU BEARS!

Mackay Wanderers FCIntroducing the Mackay Wanderers Football Club.

The Mackay Wanderers and Weston Bears Football Clubs are unique. Located in industrial and mining regions both Clubs share rich, successful histories. The Wanderers have the biggest junior numbers out of all the Mackay Clubs, played in all but 1 grand final this year and are considered a leader in their area.

It is with the many similarities each club has in mind that relationships are being formed between our 2 clubs. Initially, on both club websites, links will allow players, officials and supporters to find out more about each Club with future initiatives to develop.

The Weston Workers Bears Football Club would like to thank Mackay Wanderers FC for their initial contact, congratulate them on their initiative and welcome them to the Bears.
