The Weston Workers Bears Football Club is delighted to have been successful with a grant application from the NSW Government’s 'Regional Sports Facility Fund'.

The $498,892 grant will be used to upgrade lighting and seating at Rockwell Automation Park and is the first stage in the redevelopment masterplan.

The club sincerely thanks Cessnock City Council for their support and contribution throughout this process.

We are all excited at taking such important steps towards a wonderful facility for female and male participants, volunteers and community members

We look forward to providing ongoing updates of the works progress.

The Weston Workers Bears Football Club is saddened at the news of Max Lucchesi's passing.

Max Lucchesi brought enormous success to Weston in the early to mid 1970s winning honours in 1971, 1972, 1976 & 1977.
He was at the helm of some outstanding playing groups. 1971 was full of stars and 1977 is often put forward as one of the best Weston teams.

Life Member, Col Forster, upon hearing the news reflected  "Max is remembered as very reserved and fair. Importantly, he knew the boundaries between coach and player.  He was good.... VERY GOOD!!!

Those of us who never met Max certainly knew who he was soon enough. Looking at the successful Weston teams his face and name is ever-present.

To the immediate and extended family and friends of Max Lucchesi we offer our sincere condolences.

Max's legacy will always be celebrated and remembered.
