It is with great sadness the football club has learned of the passing of Life Member, Alan Horder.
Al was a lifelong supporter of the Weston Football Club and until recently, an ever-present at games.
He served on the club committee, ran the canteen for a number of years and at one stage was the head grounds keeper - a role he took very seriously.
Al was always welcoming with a smile, a handshake and his voice was instantly recognisable during games as he cheered the Bears on.
The Weston Workers Bears Football Club extends its deepest sympathies to his wife June and extended family at this difficult time.
Rest in peace Al - we will miss you.
Everyone at Weston FC is deeply saddened at the passing of Tommy Snedden.
A Weston stalwart, member of the '50 Season Team' and 'Team of the Century', Tommy's name is synonymous at the Weston FC - as is his family, with his parents Life Members of the club and nephew and Honorary Member Graham.
His induction, in 2007, into the Weston FC Team of the Century confirmed his place at the pinnacle - not only at Weston but in Australian football.
Tommy was a NNSW representative, at one stage was included in the Australian team and he Won the Sydney Morning Herald ‘Best and Fairest’ in 1973.
He is Without a doubt one of the best defenders Weston has ever produced and would have stood out in any era.
We extend our deepest condolences to Tommy's immediate and extended family at this difficult time.
Rest in peace Tommy.
The Bears are delighted to announce and welcome back Kew Jaliens as the Bears 1st grade coach.
Kew Returns for 2023 after three years away where, in that time, he has gained his UEFA A Licence, spent time at AZ Alkmaar, PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City.
Upon his return Kew then headed up the Newcastle Jets Accademy and Technical Director position at NNSW Football.
Appointed for an initial 2 years, Kew returns to continue on from the foundations he initially laid and which Leo Bertos continued to build upon and take us forward.
Kew will be assisted by Daniel Dawkins who brings terrific experience and work ethic to the position. Daniel in his role as reserve coach has shown an
excellent eye for detail, development and promotion of young players to senior football.
The club would also like to extend its sincere appreciation to Anthony Richards for his ongoing work as interim head coach.
His efforts and experience ensured calm waters to give the club a fighting chance to reach finals football and we are delighted he will see the season through with the club.
We are now taking expressions of interest for players in our 2023 Junior Development Program (JDL)
