Round 17 v Broadmeadow Magic |

The Bears travelled to Wanderers Oval to take on Broadmeadow Magic for round 17 of the NBN State League in what was their 5th game in 15 days.
Jamie Subat almost gave the Bears a dream start with only 90 seconds on the clock. Subat muscled his way through the Magic's defence only to miss time his 1 on 1 challenge with the keeper and the chance went begging.

West Wallsend Workers Bluebells 1 - 2 Weston Workers Bears
Weston took all 3 points in the rescheduled match at Westy. Goals to Rob Macbeth and Rhys Tippett saw Weston come from a goal down to claim the win. U23s went down 3-0 while the U18s had a great 2-0 win.

Last weekend saw the Bears put their State League campaign on hold with a successful trip to Coffs Harbour for the Solo State Cup Quarter and Semi Finals. During this break Edgeworth and West Wallsend played and won their respective matches which meant they joined the Bears at the top of the table but the Bears maintained #1 spot on goal difference. This made the round 16 match against Toronto Awaba a must win match or risk slipping as low as 4th spot.
