The Bears had a real workout in the FFA Cup game against Newcastle Uni this morning at Speers Point.
Against a dogged defence, it was Weston who went behind early. Goals from Nathan Morris and James Monie looked to set the Bears straight but Uni struck again to make it 2-2 at full time. On to penalties which Weston went on to win 4-3.
Weston, while dominant throughout, spurned at least half a dozen golden opportunities to add to the scoresheet. Add a great display from the Uni keeper and it was one of those typical cup games.
