Welcome to a 'special edition' Olde Bear Facts
.

With the last home game of 2016 almost upon us it's a chance to get your final home ground fix for the year and cheer the lads on one more time.

However difficult and frustrating this year may have been for 1st grade their efforts, commitment and respect for the club has been outstanding. Nobody will feel this more than them and it is during difficult times our support and appreciation is needed most.

Our 19s and 22s are still in the hunt for finals football so the season still has many twists and turns for the boys in black and white stripes.

Olde Bears Day

As we approach the last home game of the season the club invites all 'Olde Bears' to the game against our old rivals 'Rosebud' to catch up and enjoy each others company.
Entry for 'Olde Bears' is free, the Club marquees will be up, great music over the PA and canapes will be served!

Major raffle draw

At half time of the Bears V Rosebud 1st grade game the draw for the major raffle will take place.

For someone, it's going to be the best half time of their lives as they will be heading to 'Fabulous Las Vegas'.

Sponsor feature

In this new age of the NPL we are very fortunate to have many new and long term sponsors. We cannot do it without them and for their support we are extremely grateful.
Please visit our sponsors page and support those who support our Club.

While the 'Olde Bears' day is about celebrating our past it's also great to celebrate those who are helping shape our future.
The support of SRH Milk Haulage and Brodie Wells Electrical will not only benefit Weston FC but many other young players and clubs in our region.

SRH Milk Haulage have been a long term supporter of the Bears youth program and central to its development. Success of the youth program major sponsor can be seen on any field, each week, with many young players now playing senior and 1st grade football at Weston or other clubs because of this support.

Brodie Wells Electrical is the Bears youth program sponsor and it is his support that has also assisted our youth program to take off. Brodie is also a Weston 'Olde Bear' and has a real understanding of what is required from a club and player perspective.

State Cup

For those who have been following the story of the State Cup we have great news. The restoration of the cup is complete and it looks magnificent.

For those new to the story, the State Cup was competed for between the years 1928 to 1940 and was one of the premier cups in Australian football.

The cup was found early this year, on a scrap pile, ready for smelting. Rescued, donated to Weston and restored, the cup is ready for it's new life.

The club will notify shortly of it's display and further news on another restoration piece.

I hope you find this 'special edition' newsletter of interest and we see you at the final home game, enjoying each others company and remember....

C’Mon you Bears!!
